Smoke 'Em If You Got 'Em

A Memoir About the War That Followed Me Home

Smoke ’Em If You Got ’Em is a memoir born out of necessity. What started as a private attempt to process one moment cracked open a flood of memory—combat, addiction, rage, guilt, fatherhood, and the long road back to meaning.I didn’t write this to impress anyone. I wrote it to survive. And now it’s in the world, not for praise, but for the ones who’ve carried weight too heavy, for too long.If this book finds you, I hope it gives you something you didn’t know you were allowed to feel.

Got Your Six

Weekly Virtual Circle for Vets & First Responders

A lone flame burns on a stone in the heart of a river — steady, impossible, and alive in the flow.

What It Is
A weekly space for veterans and first responders to show up — no performance, no pressure. Just a call where you’re not alone. Speak if you want, stay silent if you need, just be. This is about presence, not fixing. Healing happens in witness.
Why “Got Your Six”
Because we know what it means to have someone at your back. These calls are a reminder: you’re not walking through this alone. Even if it’s been years. Even if your story doesn’t look like trauma. Even if you don’t want to talk — you’re still seen.
Why Not “I Got Your Six”
Because this isn’t about me. It’s not about I. It’s not about any one person having your six.
It’s about us. A circle. A tribe. A fire team. If you need it — and if you’ll accept it — this space has your back.
When
Wednesdays at 1900 EST / 1600 PST
Where / How
Zoom.
Camera optional. Voice optional. Presence required.
Important Note
We’re running this on Zoom’s free platform for now — that means 40 minutes max per session.
If it grows, we’ll grow it.
Who It’s For
Veterans. First responders. Medics. Firefighters. Law enforcement.
Anyone who’s stood in the fire and is still learning how to live after.
This space is for those willing and able to leave rank, badge, and judgment at the door — to show up human first.
If you can sit in circle with others without posturing or policing, you’re welcome here.
(And yeah — even if you don’t think you “deserve” it, you’re still welcome.)
What to Expect
• 40 minutes, loosely held but deeply present
• Opening grounding — breath, silence, maybe a poem or reflection
• Space to share — no cross-talk, no fixing, just listening
• Closing check-in or grounding
• Optional after-room for those who want to linger
What It’s Not
• Therapy
• A debate forum
• A place to perform recovery
• A solution to your problems
What It Is
• A pause
• A circle
• A lifeline, maybe

Riverside Healing for Veterans and Men in Burnout

Man fly fishing in a forest – riverside healing experience for veterans

Out of the Fire, Into the Current
A riverside rite of presence for men and others who carry weight.
This isn’t therapy. It’s not a retreat.
There’s no fee, no pitch — just presence, a rod, and a place to breathe.
What It Is
A free, one-day experience for veterans, men in burnout, and anyone carrying grief, trauma, or exhaustion.
Held by the river. Grounded in breath. Anchored in stillness.
We fish not to escape — but to remember.
Who It’s For
Born from my own story, it’s especially for men like me — but open to anyone the river calls.
If you carry something heavy, you’re welcome.
A Day Might Look Like
• Grounding breathwork
• Quiet intention
• Fishing without pressure
• Fire, warm drink, silence or conversation
• A closing that leaves you lighter
This is about remembering who you are. Not fixing anything. If you want to support the project, the GoFundMe helps cover gear and make these moments possible.Let's step out of the fire and into the current together.
